CHRISTMAS IN FRANCE

In France Christmas starts on December 1st with the Advent calendar : from December 1st till December 24th children eat one chocolate per day to wait for Christmas.

  1. Then we buy a Christmas tree and we decorate it with Christmas balls and garlands.

We also decorate our houses.

Father Christmas called Le Père Noël in France brings presents for all the children (and all the members of the family really) on the night of December 25th.

On December 25th all the members of the family gather to celebrate Christmas : very often we eat  foie gras (duck liver pâté), a christmas turkey and a special Christmas chocolate and vanilla ice- cream called La bûche de Noël (Christmas Log).

Joyeux Noël à tous !     Merry Christmas to Everyone !
